Two Sisters Tea
and how it came to be....
This balanced blend of aromatic whole spices and fine teas is all natural and rich in antioxidants, and made with love by sisters Sarah and Simone in the Hunter Valley.
The sisters were inspired to turn their passion for healthy food into a business when they couldn't find a chai tea that was all natural, easy to prepare and low in caffeine.
Growing up with a father who was a chef, the sisters lived and breathed cuisine and were surrounded by influences that fed their imagination.
Having respect for great produce and inspired by innovative new products, they wanted to create the best chai on the market. They selected ingredients that would not only taste delicious but would rejuvenate mind, body and spirit.
The sisters mixed sumptuous whole spices and fine teas. A couple of these ingredients unique to Two Sisters Tea are Yerba Maté and Agave Nectar. Yerba Maté is renowned for providing essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids. Agave Nectar, a natural sweetener with a very low glycemic index due to its high proportion of natural fructose and low levels of glucose, which results in there being no sugar rush.
Two Sisters Chai Infusion has only a small amount of natural caffeine which makes it a great alternative to coffee and can be enjoyed any time of the day.
After many months of blending, brewing and tasting, Sarah and Simone perfected the blend of exotic whole spices including cardamom pods, cinnamon quills, nutmeg, licorice root and vanilla beans amongst others, and their dream came to fruition.

Two Sisters Chai Infusion is an easy-to-prepare healthy tea infusion in a concentrated form. When mixed with equal parts milk, soy or water our infusion creates a spiced, creamy beverage that you can enjoy morning, noon or night. To drink hot, heat mixture using stove top or microwave. To drink cold, pour the mixture over ice.
The main advantage of Two Sisters Chai Infusion versus loose leaf chai tea, is that we have taken all the work out of preparing it and left you with the best part... the delicious Two Sisters Chai Infusion that you simply dilute. If you have ever made loose leaf chai tea at home you will know it is messy and very labor intensive.
Two Sisters Chai Infusion is very versatile and enjoyable; you can add a splash to some of your favorite drinks or cooking. See our ‘recipes’ page for more ideas. Or simply drink it as tea, which is what we do every day.
The difference flavour wise between Two Sisters Chai Infusion and loose leafed tea is that when we brew our infusion we allow at least an hour of simmering for the spices to reach their full flavour. In contrast, if you use loose leaf chai the black tea or green tea that is part of the blend, when simmered, creates a bitter taste. Excessive exposure of the tea to heat will release the bitter tannins in the tea leaves.
The ease of preparation and the full flavour makes our product a favourite with all age groups. We are very proud of the wonderful Two Sisters Chai Infusion we have produced through the careful blending of the spices. Bestowing impressive health benefits, our distinctive chai is an everyday encounter with the exotic. |

Agave Nectar is a natural caloric sweetener with a very low glicemic index. It is obtained from the Agave plant and can be used to sweeten any type of beverage or food with greater flavour than sugar. It is a delicious syrup composed of fructose (more than 75%); low in glucose and does not contain any other sugars. Because fructose is 42 percent sweeter to the human brain than granulated sugar, less is needed to achieve the same level of sweetness. The less used, the fewer the calories consumed. Fructose is a simple sugar found mainly in fruits and vegetables. Fructose is also a great deal easier to digest and use by your body than standard refined sucrose products or even the so-called "natural sugars" found in health food stores. Unlike fructose sweeteners that are produced chemically, Agave Nectar contains no sulfur dioxide, hydrochloric acid or other harmful toxins. High in natural fructose and nutrients, the Agave Nectar can be used to sweeten without a sugar rush. |
